OUR HISTORY

Established in 1962 as the Heath Federal Credit Union, followed by Newark Aerospace Federal Credit Union, to serve the Newark Air Force Station employees and their families.  In 1982, the office moved from the Newark Air Force Base to a location on Heath Road in Heath, Ohio.  In 1993, the name was changed, once again, to Hopewell Federal Credit Union (HFCU) to highlight its new charter which included serving anyone who lived, worked or worshiped in Licking County.  In 1999, HFCU moved to its current main office location on Hopewell Drive in Heath, Ohio.  The following 2007, HFCU expanded with a second branch location in Newark on North 21st Street.

In 2016, HFCU expanded its field of membership to include Delaware and Franklin counties.  Hopewell Federal Credit Union, a not-for-profit financial cooperative that is owned by its members, operates with the mission of helping its members get ahead financially.  Now with the expanded field of membership, that mission serves anyone who lives, works or worships in Licking, Delaware or Franklin Counties.  In pursuit of our mission, HFCU offers products and services that are appropriate for all residents, regardless of income or age. The product mix, including savings accounts, checking accounts, mortgage loans, home equity loans, vehicle loans, business and community service accounts, business lending and more, offers accessible, low-cost financial service alternatives to the communities it serves.

In 2016, Hopewell purchased land in Johnstown, Ohio and in November 2017, opened its newest branch.  We continue to grow, and our focus continues to be our organization.  We know that providing the best products and services is imperative as an organization.  One who embraces its community and strong member service is paramount to earn and keep membership.  We have established Special Employee Groups featuring exceptional incentives and onsite services which provide employers tools to attract and retain quality employees.

We look forward to you being a part of our long history and bright future.
